Interesting lift mechanism. Like the shelf over the front seats for when camping.

Re: We have a new pop top available!

Wow, been busy this week Derek? Looks great, i didn't even notice while I was there that that top goes all the way to the front windshield.

Derek has my van right now guys, and not to knock SMB at all, but he's doing a great job. His shop and his work are pretty amazing considering he just got started a few years ago. I will reserve all other accolades for AFTER i get mine back, but I feel completely confident it is going to be great. Another neat thing about the CCV tops are the key-fob remote to lift the top, so you can walk around outside of the vehicle to make sure everything is going up and down ok, and that you aren't about to tag a tree branch, etc.

Re: We have a new pop top available!

Derek,

Since your top is electric, can you stop it part way up (if there is an obstacle) and will it still be stable and secure?

Re: We have a new pop top available!

I have questions...

Does the rear cover the third brake light?
Plans for a replacement light?
What is the bed base (the carpeted part) made of?
How big is the hole in the van roof?
How tall is it inside when open? (floor to ceiling)
Are the RB and EB tops the same? (meaning if the EB top is the same size as that one does it just start father back like a SMB Penthouse top does or is it longer?)
How big can the opening be if you don't want to sleep up there?
Is it possible to fit slightly better in the front by the windshield?
What does the back look like when it is down?
When you can could you take some pictures outside of the shop? (closed and open)

I have to be honest I never really liked the looks of your tall tops but I have always liked the way the tent part looked. I think this top is going to be really appealing to people myself included as an alternative to SMB Penthouse and the GTRV tops. I hope you are ready to get busy as I think you are onto something here.

Re: We have a new pop top available!

Thanks for all of the nice words everyone. I rarely find time to post pictures of the vans we build but we have been crazy busy since the first of the year. Building these molds took way more time and money than expected but it seems like it has paid off so far. The owner got to see it for the first time tonight and he was super impressed so that always makes me excited.
To answer questions
ultrasport12
Yes it covers the third brake light and the pop top gets a led unit installed to replace the stock one. Not on this van yet because the van is not finished
Bed base is reinforced plywood covered in carpet for that warm fuzzy feeling. The hole in the roof goes from behind the A pillar all the way to the rear of the van. 52 inches wide approx
floor to ceiling with the top up is over 8 feet I will measure it tomorrow.
Rb and eb tops are made from different molds one to fit each van it cost more but it is the right way to do it.
Your opening can be from the a pillar to the rear of the van if you want it without the bed it will save you some money to.
More pics I took a nice long video of it open and closed but no time to edit and upload tonight maybe tomorrow

Also if we have nice weather tomorrow I will do a better photo shoot out doors.
Ford_6l_350
yes you can stop it at any height and it is super stout. When it is up if you can manage to get up there you can walk around on it.
86 scotty
haha your next tomorrow your van will have the worlds larges moonroof to be followed by a super cool pop top.
Twogone
yes that top has the triple wall insulation canvas
bigvans
that top did not have the cam latches on it yet but they scrunch down on that seal and are adjustable as the seal ages to keep out the rain.
Thanks again everyone it is always great to get feed back.
Derek

Re: We have a new pop top available!

I didn't know I needed a new van until you posted this.

Shame on you!
