What do you think of these shelves?

I am specifically looking at the fifth one up from the bottom of this page, SLRT2-A

Re: What do you think of these shelves?

I like them! I can't comment on their quality, if that's what you're after... but I haven't seen any that fit the door cutouts so nicely before. I'm adding them to my bookmarks file for later consideration, if you don't mind

Cheers,
Mike.

Re: What do you think of these shelves?

Bill, I know.

I wonder if they'd excite me so much if I had a girlfriend right now?

Sharp corners, ow!

And it's hard to see from the pic, but they're not very deep- you're losing the space inside the door, which is were a lot of my junk goes.

Re: What do you think of these shelves?

I agree on the corners.

I am most likely going to fab up my own panels out of 1/4" plywood, possibly embedding them into the door. These are not the most useful configuration of shelves, either, but I do love the industrial look, either way, and figured somebody might just be a perfect fit for them.

I'm buying the wood for my floor tomorrow and hoping to get it down by mid-week.

I need to get the overhead and then the walls done next and, at a minimum, the main platform done before I hit the road in late April.

I have already decided, though, that it's not such a bad thing to live in it for a month on the road before I do the final configuring and finishing work. Nothing like user testing to improve a concept.

I'm also planning to get a leaf added at Deaver on this trip, and maybe even get the Quadvan guys to do a few things if they can slot me in. Otherwise, next trip.

Nobody is giving me any suggestions in my build thread, so I'm just going with my own plans.

EXCELLENT idea to hang out OTR with the rig to see what YOU need and fits YOU
duct tape, bungie cord stuff in different locations and see what works for you

DEAVERS rock
they will want a approx rig weight to do you right
if you are driving XC, hit a truck stopp and get 'her weighted

BUILD thread
since i have no life, i will look it up and bore you with my rants and raves

Re: What do you think of these shelves?

Bill, it's the "Whitey Ford" thread. I would be honored with your rants and raves, one rant at a time.

I had Deaver do the added leaf in my Taco and it really made a difference. I'd get a whole new pack, but will probably just do the single leaf now and get a new pack in a few years, hopefully.
