FYI there is an EB SMB penthouse top in the classifieds section here...at least as of a few days ago for $2K. These are rarer than hen's teeth when they come up. That being said, if going the new top route the CCV tops are nice for similar $$

I'm stumped by this. My van is a 2009 with 6.0 PSD with the overdrive button. Does this mean it's the 4-speed AOD transmission? Boy, some disadvantages of these Fords I'm learning the hard way, not knowing that Ford built so many variations when I was hunting for a van (such as the semi- vs. full-floating rear axle; mine, unfortunately, is semi).
So I've learned through this forum that if I ever have axle problems, I'll be upgrading to a full-float. What about the tranny? If that ever gives me trouble, can it be upgraded to a Torqshift?

All 6.0s have the TorqueShift. The E-series 6.0s got the OverDrive Off button however as a request from bus body builders (With Tow/Haul button, you can't lockout overdrive). The good news is the button can be reprogrammed, so you can get tow-haul with a diesel if you run the right tune (and conversely can lockout OD on the V10s).

The question to ask yourself is.......would you go to Denver, pick it up and haul it back for $4000?.........that's the minimal difference between a shiny new one and a used one...in all fairness it's used so maybe not $4K.....

Ok, crawling around under the van, it certainly appears to be a 5R110W, but I cannot find the external filter. I traced the lines from the transmission to the radiator and back, comparing images on the web to what I see under the vehicle, but I don't see it. Now, this isn't my first time under a vehicle... I've been working on my Duramax/Allison for years, but this Ford is new to me. What am I missing? Is a van somehow different than a pickup?
I'd like to learn more about the tow-haul programming. This 6.0 PSD performs better at higher RPM's; the heavy weight of the van suggests that that programming would improve driving performance.
