Wicked Wench van build

In with the new, out with the old.

I picked up a 2013 E350 5.4l V8 passenger van. The rough goal is a camper van capable of safely hauling the fiancÚ and kids safely. Suitable as a daily driver. Capable of handling long baja wash roads at relatively high speeds for surgical strikes south of the border. Budget friendly (aka Sportsmobile is out). I will outsource the top and possible suspension work, but other mod's will be done in house.

The plan for the build:
* 4wd or 2wd with a winch and locker, and 4" maximum lift
(debating Agile Offroad, Camburg, Ujoint, or
* CCV pop top scheduled in April
* Rear aluminess bumper (from old van)
* Homeade front bumper with winching capabilities and recovery points
* Rear E-locker
* Rock n Roll or Sofa Bed (must be safe)
* Similar to a RB 50 layout
* Larger gas tank
* Anti-theft devices (undecided on how/what)
* Auxillary power with solar
* Roof Rack
* Dinette and camping amenities to be determined

Here is the old and new vans side by side.

Re: Wicked Wench van build

This was a rental van, and it has under 20k miles. However, being a rental, the carpet looked nasty and had an odor that was highly suspect. So the first order of business was to rip all of it out.

I got the floor coated with line-x, then I put some Vantred over that. Line-x San Diego did the work on the bedliner. Dallas and his father, Chris, were excellent to work with and they had a very fair price.

I had an old ford F250 IDI with the TTB 4x4 and that thing was so much more enjoyable for baja over the solid axles I've ridden in. Your setups look similar to that. I know your a busy man, but if you have an itch to do another 2013 or advise on one I'd be grateful.

Stop by the shop in El Cajon in the next few days and you can test drive one.

Sounds good. I'll swing by Friday. I should be getting off work that morning. Thanks!

Re: Wicked Wench van build

Van is coming along nicely! I think the only reason your pics above didn't post is because you added the image (img) click in the reply options above. When you add a photo bucket image code you don't need to do anything else. Hope that helps.
I used to use Photobucket solely but started to use the gallery here and once you get it down it's really nice to be able to store and link your van/van build related pics here.

Good luck
