FROM THE EBAY AD (AGAIN, IT'S NOT MINE!!)
This 2003 Ford E-350 econoline was converted to 4x4 when new by Quigley 4x4. They use Dana 60 axles with posi, a Borg-Warner T-case, and many custom fabricated, proprietary parts. If you are not familiar with them, I strongly recommend you look them up. I purchased the van about a year ago and added the custom camper interior, roof rack with accessories, tire/jerrycan mounts, and new wheels/tires. 100’s of hours of labor and more than $20k went into building this van. It really needs to be seen and driven to be appreciated, but I’ll do my best to rattle off some specs:
Exterior:
-Custom fabricated swing out tire carrier and jerrycan holder
-Smittybilt roof rack with thule roof box, solar shower, smittbilt awning, and walkway
-LED light bars front rear
-1.5” 12ga square tube rock sliders bolted to rocker seams
-33” Falken Wildpeak A/T3W tires on 15x8 alloys.(only 7k miles on these)
-Wired for trailer lights, have receiver but not mounted
-New bumpers front and rear, front not installed yet
-New front fender, not installed
-Just had rear dana 60 axle rebuilt with new bearings and seals
Interior:
-All custom
-Wood is all pine
-Sunbrella upholstery on cushions and wall panels
-Gym floor rubber flooring
-Closed cell foam and reflectix insulation on ceiling and walls
-led lighting controlled by remote
-Fantastic vent fan in roof
-Single bed slides out to a double (bed is about 5’11” long, I’m 6’ and its fine once you get used to it. you can also extent to a double and get 6’6”+ on the diagonal)
-65qt 12v fridge/freezer
-Swivel passenger seat
-Great sounding stereo
-Large galley with sink and lots of storage
-Large storage bins and huge drawer under bed/bench
-Insulated window covers fit and upholstered for every window
-The rear of the van has a ton of storage under the bed that is accessible from the rear doors.
Electrical:
-2 6v deep cycle golf cart batteries wired in series giving 210 amp hours of 12v power.
-1100 watt inverter.
-Smartpower battery isolator
-fantastic fan mounted in roof
Water:
-8 gal pvc tank mounted to frame under vehicle.
-4 gal pvc solar shower mounted on roof.
-Sure flow RV water pump feeding stainless steel sink.
Lighting:
-3 12v led strips in ceiling with remotes, one strip is multi-color.
-52” curved led light bar mounted on front roof.
-12” led light bar mounted on rear.
Stereo:
-Pioneer deck
-JBL GTO speakers, 6.5” in doors and 6x9” mounted in rear.
Issues:
-Being a 5.4, it has a ticking cam phaser, and consumes a little oil (1qt/2k miles). Both of these problems are very common with the 5.4 and don’t necessarily need to be fixed.
-It has rust in the rear of the rocker panels and starting on the rear fenders. If you get on it soon, it will be fine.
-It has dents, mostly on the rear near the rust.
-The clear coat is very, very scratched from pushing through brush on the trails.
-There is a mysterious drivetrain clicking/knocking noise that occurs after extended periods of hwy driving. Several mechanics could not find the source of the noise and advised me to just keep driving it.
-Occasional check engine light for bank 2 lean condition. Probably an O2 sensor
-Needs shocks soon
-Exhaust rattle coming from near the cat.
