Re: '07 Roadtrek 4x4

No affiliation, but Tom (owner) is interested/motivated in selling the vehicle. I'm confident he would entertain an offer in the mid to upper $40's range

I flew down & took a look at this van a short while ago (just prior to purchasing my Sportsmobile). Roadtrek has a good reputation, and this vehicle was in great condition - just needed top painted and the side skirts (about $2500 to do both). The rest of the body, interior, and engine were all in great shape. Initially the project I took under consideration would consist of adding a 6" lift (about $3,500 + new shocks at $1500), New off-road wheels & tires (about $3000), Aluminess front $ rear bumpers w/rear box and lights (about $6000). So for $15,500 in upgrades I felt I would have a pretty nice 4x4 camping van...with an interior toilet, shower, and 4 forward facing captains seats. If anyone is interested in converting - this website can provide an idea of what initially motivated me (pic's of another that had been converted)

Good looking rig. If I were buying, I would LineX the side skirts rather than painting them.

I really, really like the way they integrate the rooftop AC into the raised roof. I wish more manufacturers offered that, rather than just plopping an AC unit on top of the raised roof.

I have an 08 roadtrek 4x4 190V. Where are 6inch lifts done? That looks amazing!

Re: '07 Roadtrek 4x4

I had completed some research on the Roadtrek 4x4 conversion, but discarded all my info once I acquired the Sportsmobile. I do recall that some Specialty shops would not touch a vehicle older than 5years ??? (Didn't understand that one!) But do recall a shop in Virginia/Maryland (have 3 or 4 sites) by the name of Trick Trucks. There was also an outfit in North or South Carolina (one that has a great reputation) - he was willing to do it as well. No doubt there are shop around that would be capable of doing the conversion, and would suspect many of the members here would be able to provide reputable resources. At the time, I limited my search to the East Coast - close to home.

The suspension kit on the roadtrek in Twoxentrix's link is a Fabtech 6" kit for '02-'07 (maybe newer) GM 2500/3500HD's if I've ever seen one ( http://www.fabtechmotorsports.com/GMC-C ... -p925.html )... which would make sense as Quigley uses 2500HD 4x4 parts in their conversions.

Re: '07 Roadtrek 4x4

Thanks for info. I can't afford to do it right now but at some point it would be great. Just having the 4x4 is helpful. I was on a really sloppy mud road going up some hills, not sure I would have made it without 4x4 and there was sure no turning around.
