What's with the close up of the rocker panel? Is there some sort of clear rocker protection there, or is it just a really bad, orange-peel paint job, in a straight line across the bottom?

That's how Ford paints them. They lay it on thick and heavy in this area, so that it lasts longer. I like it.

Yeah, all the ones I’ve seen have that treatment. My 98 does.
