Re: 1996 4x6 Diesel Van High Top $7500

I don't believe that's a 4x6.

Wonder what the inside looks like.

Wow that thing is quit interesting.. Seems like a hell of a deal regardless of what the interior looks like.

Not sure I trust the dually setup, I think I'd swap a real dually axle in there just to be on the safe side. Otherwise it's quite a van.

A '96 will be a full float, probably a D70. Extended wagons got the same brakes as the cutaways, which means 3.5" shoes vs the regular 3" shoes.

I did the Arrowcraft hubs on mine. Dana doesn't specify a max offset for the full-floats. I had the bearings out at 265k to inspect them, and they still looked new so they went back in. Arrowcraft upsizes to the studs so they are good for 10K even with lugcentic outer wheels.

I do plan on upgrading mine to an E450 axle (or maybe F450) solely because I'm way over what the D70 is rated for. Loaded weight with the trailer puts me at nearly 11,000 on the rear axle. But, its held up just fine, other than that one time I split the diff carrier (rough landing, not on purpose that time).

Wow! It's a 7.4 diesel! Must be a One-off thing Ford did.
