Re: 1998 E350 4X4 7.3 with new front end- $21000

The van on eBay is VERY nice looking. And I see he bumped it up to Fox shocks, nice! I want someone on here to buy this van and report frequently. I am in San Diego if someone wants me to check it out.

Javier's mirrors really don't look bad at all. Pretty dang good for the price. I'd be curious to the operation and strength when they REALLY get jostled around. MG Metal Works fit and finish on his mirrors is OEM. And I'm sure the same goes for the strength, operation, and durability.

MGs.....

Javiers.....

Re: 1998 E350 4X4 7.3 with new front end- $21000

I should clarify, I've never seen one of his (Javiers) vans in person so my comment may have been a bit unfair. Please don't take it as first hand testimony of any sort. For that matter we don't even know if this is one of his vans. What I meant was that I wouldn't want to count on a conversion done by someone of unknown reputation in an area of the world that is know for things done on the cheap. Again, that doesn't mean I know first hand that his conversions aren't...top notch. It also certainly does NOT mean that you can't find good work done in Mexico. It just means that these are big vehicles with a lot of weight and those sort of unknowns would make me nervous. Someone may end up buying this van and being happy with it for years. I also would want to hear about it and what the experience was like over the course of a period of time.

I just realized the mirrors on the Javier (?) van actually don't have custom bases. It look like the stock F-series mirror base, but the door itself has some filler work done to fit the mirrors.

^^^ interesting. guess those mirrors are cool enough to warrant that amount of work. seems a little overkill, but those mirrors would be a nice addition.

Coolness factor aside, the stock mirrors on my 2003 E350 are some of the most worthless I have even used!

2005 sucks just as bad. The lower "spot" mirror should be thrown in the trash. What a waste of forward vision.

If you locate some van tow mirrors of the correct vintage, they can be swapped in place of your existing mirrors. It's what others have done, and what I did on my '06 SMB.
