1998 RB50, 2wd, 72k miles - $15k

Listed on the SMB Texas site. Seems like a pretty good deal. Top doesn't match, but has solar and AC.

That does seem like a good deal, and like a clean, older rig.

Re: 1998 RB50, 2wd, 72k miles - $15k

Just searching the forum for help on a few issues and saw this post.

I bought this SMB! I've been looking for over a year to find something in my price range. I really wanted a 4x4 but couldn't find one for less than $40K and really didn't want a huge payment for my first SMB. It's super clean, drives nice, and everything works almost flawlessly. The penthouse could use a little more "spring" as it seems to be just an inch or so from max height when extended. I'll search the forum for help. Looking forward to learning as much as I can about my "new" SMB from the forum.

Congrats on your new rig! I'm sure you'll find most of your answers on this forum and if you don't see it, ask away. There are some very experienced people on here that are more than willing to help out.

CONGRATS!!! Good for you!! I was looking how CLEAN this rig looks, inside and out! Just knowing someone was going to get a GREAT DEAL and membership in the most exciting motoring club out there (yes my opinion)!! There is great information on this forum about EVERYTHING SMB!!! (Don't forget the 'search' feature, get you where yo need to be QUICKLY) Experts from vendor-users (Agile, U-JOINT), to knowledgable, no brilliant tinkers/thinkers and experts on all sorts of subjects (Dave, Tapitio, Scotty on and on). You'll find great info on tools you can use to get your top all the way up w/o the manual hassle/strength...destinations, pictures, ideas, on and on and on! Again, welcome to Club SMB! Looking forward to your trip reports and pics!

Sorry! I called/emailed/pestered them IMMEDIATELY after it went up on their site. I had been waiting by that shiny red "launch" button for over a year. Now I finally get to play! Thanks for the warm wishes everyone - this is gonna be FUN!

Wzlsnot: Where are you located? The top spring adjustment is straightforward....you'll need a come-along... Harbor Freight sells them for $20 or less.

Reno. There's a Harbour Freight here. Is there a description of the fix on the forum?
