2001 E350, 7.3 PSD, UJOR 4x4, Pop Top - $35k

Saw this on my local CL and have seen it driving around a couple times. Could be a sweet tow rig or take out the sienna seats and build it out.

IMO That's actually a great price for a newly installed 4x4 system & Pop-top. I'd have a compression check along with an Oil analysis done on the engine, & thorough inspection on the rest of the Van (Rust underneath) - if all's good I can see it serving someone very well. He forgot to mention the Awning in his Ad.
Good find milkracer.

It looks like an EB top on an RB van. It overhangs the cab way to much to be a SMB install.

Nrobert10,

Interesting observation . . . and after looking at the CL listing, I can see what you're saying.

The front of the pop-top on our 2001/2002 RB-50 SMB only comes forward to the mid-point of the upper edge of the front row windows. In contrast, the pop top on the van in this CL listing comes all the way to the front of the upper edge of the front-row windows.

Maybe the longer penthouse buys you another six or eight inches of length upstairs?

I know SMB did some full length tops, not many. So, this may be one of those.

I have wondered if the EB top would actually fit on an RB as a full length top. The EB and RB tops both terminate at the rear gutter and both terminate just forward of the B Pillar. The delta has to be close to 22" to accommodate the 22" longer EB. Is there even 22" forward of the RB top before the windshield gasket?

I know there has been posts about the idea of an EB top on an RB but has someone actually done it?

My tape measure says there's only 12" between the front of the SMB pop-top and the windshield gasket on our RB E-350.

So maybe that's a "no".

Yes, F45S. Pretty sure it is an 8 ft awning, though. The 10ft on an RB comes further aft.

I spoke with the owner on the phone and got a few more details.

Van is from Washington State originally and was quite rusty. It has been repaired but there is still quite a bit of rust underneath from the photos he sent me.

The pop top is from an EB Econoline, it was a take-off that he fitted himself to a standard body. Thats why the front corners don't sit down right. He stated that the corners of the canvas are not perfect and it would need to be redone and trimmed out to be considered more complete but it is functional and does not leak per the owner.

Owner is a solid dude if someone local is looking for a project, its too far for me to go for a rusty vehicle.
