I don't think the 7.3 is worth any premium at all. I prefer gas engines and the premium people pay for a 7.3 could pay for an engine replacement and 100k miles of gas (maybe). But some people swear by the diesel and will pay extra for it. All of the $75k+ transactions I have seen in the last 2 years have either been 7.3s or 2010+ rigs. So yeah, I would say people pay $10k for a 7.3, especially a low mileage one.

Good catch Scotty! The $64,000 question is...would you buy a Sportsmobile with a 6.0L Powerstroke if bulletproofed? Reason I ask is that the newer models (not new classics) are available with the 6.0L diesel or V8 or V10 gas. I would like to find a RB-50 penthouse with the Sportsmobile 4x4.

Personally I would not but I'm in the minority. I don't really want a diesel of any kind. I'd go for a V10 (again, I've had two of em) over a diesel any day. Much quieter and cheaper to maintain.

I'm not a party pooper on noise or anything, it's just that camping and exploring for me often entail lots of idling and coming and going early morning and late night. I prefer stealth, as much as I can have it.
