I am sure you were looking at an overpriced basic model sprinter before you landed on this. This 4x6 beast has every conceivable piece of utility and luxury equipment that you could possibly pack into a Class B.

The "Baja" model is an extremely rare version of the Chinook. It was only made for a few short years, during this time Chinook packed every top end appliance they could into it. They priced the these models at 150-170K new in early 2000's!

The Chinooks are known for their single-body fiberglass frames that insulate and never leak. (hence the lifetime warranty) . They also are great for their class B size, which allows you to park in an average parking spot or navigate through a busy city.

This RV has only 73K miles and just got a full inspection, alignment and oil change. It's equipped with a v10 engine that can get you up any road smoothly and ABS breaks to get you back down. It's got a Warn winch on the front enough to pull a full-sized RV out of a rut and an air compressor in the bumper to lower your pressure for sand or soft dirt and fill back up when you're done.

On top of the countless included features:
+ Brand new Dometic wireless AC unit
+ XM Radio
+ Alpine Stereo System
+ PS4 with 2 wireless controllers
+ New Carpet
+ New Hydraulic hinges throughout
+ 4 new deep cycle marine batteries

This thing has heated, oversized tanks for long journeys in the cold or heat. It's got oversized appliances, privacy shades, interior lighting packages, awning, roof storage rack, solar, tons of storage, leather all around. And tons more.

Please don't waste my time with low ball offers or come for a visit unless you actually have the money.

Long post is long.

I've seen that one in Lake Tahoe. Been for sale before.

Why are these so highly coveted? Seems like they are really small inside and really big outside. Are they not just a class C rv without a bed over the cab?

They were way before their time. Insulated and 4*4 but also $100k + vans before even Sportsmobile hit that mark. They didn't sell many and most were a unique color. So they are cool but obviously pretty over the top.

Must be a Quadvan 4x conversion as it is TTB.

I am not a fan of the interior layouts for our usage. But they are pretty cool for what they are.

Price reduction, but still $5k more than it was bought for a year ago, (as mentioned several times in this post)... Cool rig but the paint job sorta makes me vomit a little.

Agreed. 22ft long and super tall, and it has one king-size bed and kinda-sorta seats extra passengers by putting lap belts in the dinette.

By contrast, I can seat 4 with shoulder belts and sleep 2-up/2-down in a friggin ASTRO van. Would I love to have some of the interior amenities of the Chinook? Sure. But we've got a growing kid who's a wiggly sleeper, so until she goes to college, we need a 2nd bunk.

I love Chinooks and probably should've grabbed one when they were aplenty for 20-25k all over the country a few years back. I think they are a great layout and phenomenally built product for 2, not for families at all though. Too tight. Also, the rear door makes hauling bikes or really anything a problem.

Anyway, the Chinook BAJA is a bad idea. Overpriced and ugly. A 25k Chinook if you could still find one with an Expovans or TTB 4x4 conversion would be pretty much unbeatable.

There are Chinooks with a side door. Very uncommon.
