I had the same thought.. Maybe it's 'rust free for upstate NY' as opposed to 'rust free'..

I'm in PA and my SMB is totally rust free, but I rarely drive it in the winter and never when it snows or in the aftermath. I'm just assuming that somebody who pays for a 4WD van in NY drives it in the snow, but maybe not. All NE vans are not rust buckets.
