2002 E350 extended passenger van in OC

http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/cto/4411646218.html

I'm actually interested in this van and was wondering if anyone in the OC/Newport Beach area would be available to check the van out for me. He said it has a lift, but doesn't know anything about it. It doesn't look tall enough to be an Action Van or Camburg lift, but I really don't know. The tires on it are 275/70/18 if that can give you any indication.

Couple things to ask about / look at.

There's a BanksPower emblem on the fender. That's not necessarily good or bad, but worth asking about. And the fact that all the pictures are the van driving through what I presume to be salt water, I'd look extra closely for any rust.

Re: 2002 E350 extended passenger van in OC

I didn't ask about the Banks, but noticed it in the pic. Also noticed the driving through salt water. I sent him a picture of the Action Van suspension that shows the drop bracket for the radius arms and he said he doesn't think his van has them so I'm assuming the van has a coil spacer lift. If it had a real suspension lift, I would consider this one but if it doesn't, he's asking way too much (IMO). The guy doesn't seem to know much about the van other than it runs good and he trusts it to drive wherever/whenever. Might be withdrawing from this one, but if someone is real close by and could check it out, I would appreciate it. If not, no biggie.

Yep, it scares me when they don't give the mileage in the ad. Looks really nice but I'm betting over 150k, not a big deal, but that's my guess.

Re: 2002 E350 extended passenger van in OC

I'm not scared of the mileage either. But if the lift he has on the van is just a coil spacer lift, I wouldn't be interested in paying a premium for the van. If I remember correctly, the van books for about $4k. One thing the van has going for it is the 4:10 gear ratio, although its not a limited slip.

I asked about the Banks sticker on the fender. He said "it had the tranny but it sucked so it's back to stock". I don't think Banks offered a transmission...I think I'll pass on this one.

They did offer a transcommand (software I believe) option.

Standby for a response to your pm. Busy for awhile.
