2003 GMC Savanah on Marketplace

Seriously thinking about pulling the trigger on this one. Its fairly high miles but seems to be well maintained. Already had one phone conversation and planning on talking again tomorrow. Any thoughts?

Might check the link, seems incomplete, not working for me and neither is copying/pasting.

It's so far the closest thing to what I'm looking for that I've found. Was really hoping for 4wd but AWD may actually work out better for me since it will be a daily driver and 99.9% on road.

Jump on it man. I love the barn doors on both sides. And any van that belonged to a guy named Super Carl, I mean how can you miss??

Looks good, agree there is a lot to like. Does have over 200k miles so I’d want to know about the trans and other items that have been replaced. Wonder why the drivers side is different from the front barn door forward?

Yeah, I was concerned about that too. Looks like it may have had damage on the driver's side and been repainted.

I agree that the front quarter panel and 2 front doors have been repainted or replaced. Definitely would merit some inspection to make sure the damage wasn’t more than superficial.

Definitely would count on replacing the T case if i TV hasn’t been already. Ditto the transmission, but you’re more likely to identify issues during a test drive. You won’t know the T case is worn out until the front wheels don’t grab.

Newer conversion vans have certainly improved their wiring practices, but beware it won’t come close to the quality of OEM wiring. That’s definitely a conversion, not a factory wagon build.

Thanks for all the replies. I didn't even notice the paint issue. I will bring it up in our next conversation. I asked about the AWD aspect in the 4x4 subforum and looks like the transfer case is a Borg Warner 4473 and was told that is a single speed chain driven unit. His asking price is just over my budget so even if I talk him down that doesn't leave me with much left for replacing a transmission. I'm hoping that if it's been maintained properly it would last long enough to get some money put away for whatever might come up.
