Re: 2004 Chinook 7.3L 4x4

I have seen this rig for sale before in the past 3 or 4 years.

Re: 2004 Chinook 7.3L 4x4

I'm definitely interested, just sent a message to the owner asking if he's willing to bargain. Nadaguides lists the 2004 baja package vehicle at $40,000 retail. Anyone have a feel if the price is in the right ballpark? I live in Patagonia, Chile, so I'll have to ship it here and there's no roll-on roll-off transport available. Anyone know if this will fit in a container? ...without the roof racks and A/C?

Met a gal in Anza Borrego who has one. I asked about mpg. She said 12 mpg no matter what. Wouldn't a gasser get near that with less hassle and price?

Re: 2004 Chinook 7.3L 4x4

If this was a gasser I'd be breaking into the piggy bank…

Nizinadan - I think it might be too high and too wide for a container - here's a link to a previous Chinook that was up for sale with the only spec's I've been able to find about what might be in a Chinook: http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/t ... er-s-Dream!

My High cube container will clear 9'6" high. by 8' wide.

Maybe it would fit if you pulled the AC and everything off the roof, found some tiny rims and tires to put on and maybe bind the suspension down.

This won't fit in a normal container.. Width of the doorway is 94" as I recall, Chinook looks well over 100, a Ford van without mirrors is 80 wide..

But you should be able to get a roll-on roll-off from US to South America.. maybe not Chile. I used one from Panama to Arica, and it had started in NY. That ship looks to be decommissioned, but check K Line - looks like that have ferries from FL to Rio Grande, Argentina.

Good thing there is a back door to sneak out of! Drive that into a container and you might get packed up and shipped with it! Next stop? Chile!!

I agree. I think by 2003 QuadVan did all of Chinook's 4x4 conversion. Should be their D50 TTB setup.

Re: 2004 Chinook 7.3L 4x4

Since "gasser" and lower price was mentioned I thought I would post this link. It lists a baja for sale. I don't know if it is still for sale or not.
