2008 Ford E150 RB Sportsmobile Penthouse, Quigley 4x4, 4WD, 72K Miles, $65,995

E-150 Regular Body with E-350 suspension rear springs and new shocks and brakes. 5.4L Gas V8 255HP, 350lb/ft Torque

VIN: 1FMNE11L58DA37311

THIS SMB’S STORY
I bought this van from SMB forum member Chris in June 2021, who was selling on behalf of a client. The van has been in California it’s whole life, shows no signs of rust or corrosion, and has a full bill of health by our San Francisco mechanics. I have had no issues and she runs perfectly.
Original listing here:
https://www.sportsmobileforum.com/fo...60k-28395.html

The previous owner did the following and receipts are included:

All around new shock absorbers (April 2019)
New tires (April 2019)
New brakes (April 2019)
Backup camera (March, 2021)
Drone alarm and app system (March 2021)

I have since made / paid for the following upgrades:

Professionally installed full underbody Fluid Film application when first purchased. Took advice to do this as vehicle in such good condition for age and to keep it neat. More info here about this product. ($140)
Full service and 4x4 inspection, oils and fluids (no issues highlighted)- July 2021
Uhaul Draw-Tite front hitch ($250)
GoPower 180W Solar panel added to existing 140W panel ($700 inc. professional secure installation)
1500W inverter installed with large cabling allowing upgrade (I couldn’t order 3000W in time for departure so installed 1500W) ($400)
Engine isolator switch ($140)
Wireless tyre pressure monitoring system (required post Quigley as the original sensors don’t relate to the new set up. Also very useful when airing up/down. ($110)
New TruckFridge 2.4 cu ft refrigerator ($750)
All round window insulation including premium insulation homemade penthouse window covers ($300)
Swivel bases driver and passenger, new 2013 seats front and passenger ($800)
Upgraded Garmin maps 2020 and bluetooth firmware
110v>30A charger to charge at home / regular outlet
LED bulb upgrades
New sink/shower head
Rhino Rack 8FT awning ($500)
Locking gas cap
Concealed locking Rotopax 2 gallon gas tank behind Aluminess rear box ($250)
Large Maxxtracks ($100)
Samsung TV and 90 degree swivel ($200)

I have had some incredible adventures and the van spending the summer and winter on the entire West Coast. Read: one careful female driver. She handles incredibly well on forest roads, in light sand, and on slippy roads. The turning circle is sharp and makes maneuvering a breeze (plus back up camera = very easy handling).

I have loved having all of the essentials: water, power, fridge, ice, heating and air conditioning onboard. This solar/power set up is designed for being remote and off-grid as minimal sunlight can meet the basic power needs of the 12v fridge and LED lights. The Drone app-based remote engine control had been excellent for pre-cooling and pre-warming the vehicle when out of the rig and returning.

With the addition of the insulation, the poptop has been comfortable in hot heat and colder times day and night, I have used a memory foam mattress topper, very comfortable to sleep in. The penthouse features the ‘photographers package’ allowing windows and screens to unzip in front. The TV up there works with any HDMI input (Apple has an HDMI adapter, can include if interested)

This unique floorplan leaves LOTS of available unused wall and floor space for further build ideas, or for significant storage onboard. Adding a folding sofa bed would be very easy. It would not take much to emulate the features of the RB50.

I am selling this van as I am moving internationally.

This van is stored in Los Angeles, CA but can potentially be viewed in other closeby (CA) locations with prior planning.
