Why is that? I've had way more than that hanging off the hitch...

Daaayum, I wouldn't even leave my driveway with the setup you posted, carringb! I've got a hitch carrier, and use it from time to time, but usually light loads/short trips/not-interstate speeds. I've got little faith that the BBQ would hold together after 5k of even slightly rough roads... and the beer... oh the furiously shaken beer Like a paint shaker.

That said, it is a nice design, and would be fun to ride out to the lake for some tailgating. I'd just worry about it cross-country. I haul my 65q Engel inboard until camp site, then, put it in my over-the-spare basket for frequent visits. My rear-bumper system is built out of the same alloy tubing that NASCAR cages are built from, and I still don't hang a full cooler on it at interstate speeds... already has a big ol' tire and a FULL box.

But carringb being carringb, limits are made to be discovered, and I actually admire that trait... and get some serious entertainment from it on our little forum.
