These comments crack me up! I have seen this van in person. Owner stopped by our shop to say hi. Super nice guy. I asked him what the weight was before gear.... Field Van told him it was 11,500 dry. yikes! Thats a lot of L brackets!

So true...especially the older ones. I have a couple Sportsmobiles, 2003 and 2006 with the 7.3 and Duramax engines and as a cabinet builder could build one much better but brand recognition probably helps resale values over a "home build". I think I'll end up rebuilding the interior of my RB-50 because it's the 7.3 with the SMB 4x4 and 55K miles...worth it to me.

Prices over 5 years ago for used or even new were much less. I got a quote from Fieldvan recently on an RB-50 build out that I was considering on a low mile 7.3 4x4 and it was around $85K

People don't think twice about spending $150-200K for a Sprinter camper van probably because many finance them if they're newer. I'm partial to body on frame setups for 4x4 off roading. I have a 4x4 Chinook with the 7.3 and love the extra space. I must admit the classics look really cool.

Agree ^^all good points.
The classic does look cool. I'm also partial to 4x4 w/ body on frame. Last summer at an expo I checked out a classic. Definitely improved construction from SMBs years ago.... however, there sure are a lot of impressive rig options these days...
