Not really a Sportsmobile.....don't know why seller thinks he can use that description in the ad.

We should lock down the homebrew section and kick everyone with a GTRV or CCV off while we're at it...

No Jage, yer missin my point.

I have nothing agin homebrews, etc.

Tis an accuracy of advertising issue.

If it ain't a SMB, ya don't call it one......could mislead or confuse less informed buyers...

Simple as that.

Re: 91 E250 4x4

Maybe Sportsmobile installed the Fantastic Fan.

I think this ad isn't nearly as questionable as the one where the guy put SMB 4x4 stickers, and V10 Triton badges on his van, when it was neither.

Re: 91 E250 4x4

Whats really misleading about his ad is the last line where it says "you can own a sportsmobile for a quarter of the price". That implicates you could buy a SMB for $4,375. NOT TRUE!

Re: 91 E250 4x4

The thing is the guy is using it as a keyword, it's not like he's got SMB4x4 stickers down the side of a 2wd homebrew van. I don't read it as baldfaced trying to pass it off as genuine SMB manufacturer, but trying to attract a crowd interested in Sportsmobiles, who cannot necessarily afford the sticker shock. I doubt anyone is going to misunderstand what they are getting with this van.

Would it be 10% clearer if he typed Sportsmobile-Like each time instead? Sure. Maybe we should change the forum to Sportsmobile-LikeForum.com

More over, would we have ever seen the ad if he didn't include Sportsmobile as part of the ad?

Re: 91 E250 4x4

Maybe he changed the ad but it's a "Sportsmoblie" not a Sportsmobile! Totally different, right?

Great observation!

'Who needs a Sportsmobile, when you can come down and buy this Sportsmob-lie'. How appropriate.
