no affiliation, but cool to check out if you've never seen one. Anybody got $60k I can borrow?

Low mile V10. Wish the Baja's had 2 more Captains seats behind the driver/passenger seats. Also can't quite past the standard Baja here-I-am graphics.

2004 is probably a Quadvan-IFS conversion.

Oooh, I'm going to be down that way this weekend. Tempting to take a look! (Heading to Shenandoah National Park for the long weekend.)

Re: Bona Fide Chinook Baja!

I saw one of those in my town a few weeks ago. It was a different color (brown/white) but the same graphics. Definitely a "here I am" graphics scheme.

The inside looks great and very liveable. The outside, not so much.

Chinook are plush, feel very roomy and are very nicely finished. My aunt and uncle are long time Chinook fans and have had a few models.

I'm with Herb, if that could safely have quad captains it would be tempting. That, paint, the money to pay for it all and the time to go get it...

Re: Bona Fide Chinook Baja!

The nooks are why I am looking to sell my sportsmobile. Likely won't go 4x on it but the amenities and extra space are nice. I have a high top and although the specs are my EB is 19 feet long and the Chinook is 21 when I am parked next to one they look identical in size.

Tom is selling his Chinook. His is only the second 7.3 diesel I have seen in a nook. That motor would push some big 35 inch tires and still get over 10 mpg. Single out the rear and other than the overhang you could still take it many places you would take a 4x4 van. Not all I concede but most.

I have no affiliation (ie, skin in the game) but do continue to bump Tom's sale add as I really think converting his chinook will turn some heads on the van loving crowd. Especially now that Sportsmobile is going to have to create a fiberglass rear for their vans anyway... I know they are not the same but the underlying platform is.

viewtopic.php?f=7&t=13484

and don't get me wrong, for many uses and applications nothing can replace the 4x4 vans. But for those of us who live more East than West our vans are not going to Moab on the weekends.
