No, I saw it on CL. A friend told me about it. I’m not sure what his asking price was... I made him an offer, and he took it. I picked it up the next day to secure the sale... It seems to be a great deal!

Do you live on the central coast? I might have some of the previous service records from when I owned it.

And I might have some of the upholstery pieces that I promised Mikracer back when he owned it that I never sent.......that are probably still missing.

Wow! Thanks for wanting to help me out guys! I live in Oceanside Ca. All of your expertise and knowledge of this SMB would be awesome! I have a maiden voyage planned in a month with my wife and 2 month old son. I am looking to get it as dialed as possible before our departure. The 12v system looks a little in disarray under the fold out bed... I think the last owner stored things on top of the batteries and components... Things are just hanging out loose in there. Both house batteries are dead. Small stuff, but I know the month will go by quick, so i need to get rocking!Let me know if you guys have any solid advice you can share with the new junior member Thanks dudes!!

How are you mounting a car seat in that van? Are you "allowed" to mount a seat in a sideways position on the gaucho?

Message me your email address and I will try to dig up the receipts I have and scan them over to you. I remember seeing something about the transmission pump being replaced.

d.
This is a great point.

I looked at this issue when I was looking for my own van couple of months ago. It was very hard to find the information but we concluded that it was not authorized in California to drive with having the kids sideways. Even more dangerous.

You may think to install a third seat behind the passenger seat to be compliant.

Good luck and congratz for the van.

It’s an RV. Adults don’t even need seatbelts in the back, and kids don’t need forward facing seats. Look at any RV.. there are no forward facing seats in the back.

Child Seat in SMB

Putting my sons carseat in the SMB safely is paramount. This was definitely something that I was thinking about.

Question: Are all SMB's registered as RV's?? What is the difference from a regular van?

I am not exactly sure about the RV situation versus Car. But if there are no difference. the rule are pretty clear in CA :

"Your child must be secured by either a federally-approved child passenger restraint system or a safety belt depending on their height and age.
Children under 2 years old must be secured in a rear-facing child passenger restraint system unless the child is 40 pounds or more, or 3 feet 4 inches or taller."
