I've been helping my neighbor track down a 4x4 7.3L van and honestly think that's priced well in the current market. He ended up flying to Texas to get his EB wheelchair van (~100k miles, 2012 axles, radius arm front end on airbags... it's pretty rad!) and didn't pay a whole lot less than that.

I agree. It's a home build but a rather loaded one and it's also a van that can't be replaced.

I'm kind of baffled by the marketing 'better than Sprinter'. Perhaps different than Sprinter, I don't know about better. That's completely in the eye of the beholder. Your newer Sprinter buyer isn't really the same market as someone looking for a tough old 7.3 E series.

Also, there is a Sprinter next to his van in one of the pics? Weird.

.
Great point that is often overlooked. As a current Sprinter owner who has owned many other 4wd vehicles in the past, I specifically chose NOT to purchase "a tough old 7.3 E series". If I were 20 or 30 years younger it might have been a different decision, but because I had the vehicles I had 20 to 30 years ago I went with the Sprinter for now. No regrets, it's been a great vehicle for what we currently use it for.
