eBay '00 Quigley 7.3 Diesel

I am not affiliated with this seller, but it caught my eye as I am looking for a diesel for our family to modify and use. Everything looks real nice but the seller must not want to sell it as he repeatedly will not answer my questions. (I gave him a few chances because he says he is selling it because he is retiring. Thought he might not be too computer savvy?)

This was my last message to him:

Dear shirleytheshooter,

Thanks for posting more pictures.

Also why was a new fuel tank needed? Are you sure there is no rust on the body or undercarriage? If it has been in the NE it's whole life I always worry about rust. Pictures of that area would help calm my nerves for sure.

Also can you please answer my other questions I sent before?

Thanks,

******

His response back:

Dear ******,

the van is 12 years old, in 1990 i paid 56,000.00 for the van ,i think you might want to consider buying a new one

Hopefully if anyone else is considering this one it might sway them one way or the other. I wish people would be more honest and open about things they sell. My other questions were about maintenance, damages, repairs, etc. I have been disappointed before and made a trip 1/2 way across country and it not be what was stated. Needless to say I will not be following up with him anymore.

Thanks for a great forum, I hope to be here awhile!

Sounds like Colorado... call to ask a question and they literally laugh at you. That is if it hasn't sold in the hour since they posted. Apparently it's show up with cash and shut up around here.

I agree if you don't have a good feeling, skip it.

It has new style New York plates on. I grew up in Upstate NY and everything rusts bad there. Also it has body damage on the drivers left front fender and door. It looks super dirty and thats a bunch of miles for the van, maybe not the 7.3 but all of the rest of it. Its at $6,000 and the reserve isnt met either.

Re: eBay '00 Quigley 7.3 Diesel

Am I the first to notice 94.1 percent feedback rating on 193 sales? That's BAD in my opinion. No wonder the seller isn't cooperative. His history says he has never been cooperative and isn't very good at commucating or selling things. I'd skip it.

Re: eBay '00 Quigley 7.3 Diesel

Thanks for all the comments. I definitely planned to pass, just wanted to make sure no one else made a mistake either.

I am surprised at the very small # of diesels out there, then take out the trashed ones, rusty ones, expensive ones, old ones, and high miles ones and the # is really low. Cargo or passenger is fine with me, prefer well maintained and rust free. Mileage doesn't scare me too much if the price is right.
