Good deal right there, especially considering that it alread has plenty of windows, some with screens.

Agreed. If it wasn't on the other side of the country from me, I'd be trying to figure out how to get that. My van already has a raised roof, but additional headroom would be nice for my plans.

This guy is selling a whole van for 4K in Michigan, pretty close to you. If I had an extended I'd probably buy it as well. If you got the time and space, I'm sure could part it out and make some $$

Dang. That one ^ is good deal! Seems like the giant-top 90's camper vans are going for about $20,000 in PDX these days.

I had a coachman. Upper bed feels like a coffin and there are tons of tiny cabinets everywhere made to "RV-grade" spec. They look great in photos and it rented really well, but there was tons of stuff you couldn't use.

That top is way too expensive for how old it is. Top alone should be in the $500 range

Used hightops

The thought of spending 5k on a fiberglass high top makes me cringe! You would think there would be a ton of used tops out there! but I haven't seen very many?

Yeah... supply and demand.. sure, a used top "should" cost $500. And depending on where you are, that might be a realistic price. Probably in the rust-belt where vans are more likely to end up in yards. Down in SoCal - maybe not. And let's face it, shipping one of these would not be easy.
