Re: found ..'07 sportsmobile for sale in huntington beach, ca

I was thinking factor into the price the cost of taking it to one good diesel mechanic, but then again I'm not considering resale value with the Yellow Letter.

Re: found ..'07 sportsmobile for sale in huntington beach, ca

Alright....I think this van can be had for about $60,000 from the several conversations I have had with them. Am I crazy for even thinking about this van with the Lemon Law issue???

Everything fits for what I need and it looked in great shape with a 12 month unlimited mileage warranty. In 12 months I will put about 25,000 miles on it.

Big concerns: resale value, am I going to get stuck with this vehicle, am I going to get stuck somewhere with one of the reasons it was a Lemon Law? I typically travel alone for several days photographing. That's not smart to begin with but I could be taking a bigger risk with the reliability issue. Looks like from the repair report it had to be towed in once.

Maybe I should just spend a little money fixing up my Quigley....

Anyway, part question and part just talking out loud...

Thanks in advance for any comments.

Van in question:

That's a ridiculous deal. If I had more than $1.12, I'd be all over it. F resale HAVE FUN!

Can you buy a factory Ford extended warranty on a Lemon Law buyback? If so, factor that cost into your purchase, otherwise, I might stay away. Search here on "Jay Minto" for the Ext Warranty contact info.

Re: found ..'07 sportsmobile for sale in huntington beach, ca

Long story on this one Hobie: Almost pulled the trigger on this one....spoke with the dealer a few times, warranty people a few times and many people on the forum via phone and email......I think I exhausted my way out of purchasing it. Van was purchased by the selling dealer at auction, they did come down to $70,000 a few weeks ago when I started the process, spoke to Towne Ford who Jay works with for the extended warranty and they stated there were a few warranty options but they needed to be in place by today. While doing all this research I spoke with several forum members who advised to stay away for many reasons including the cloud on the title. There is still some form of limited warranty and John at the selling dealership has the details. Everyone I spoke to at the dealership was great and at the Towne.

On the surface the van fits the bill but given all the issues above it's not for me. Decided over the last few days to just put some upgrades on my Quigley.

Had the crazy question in my mind last night: I wonder how much it would be to put a V10 in it??? LOL

It's listed again on craigslist...

They never removed it from autotrader.com
