FS - Extensive Build: Quigley Chevy EB

Been intrigued as heck with this listing!
Seems it's a lot of equipment (and van!) for the money.

(Still not sure if it's actually a Sportsmobile build-out or not, but it sure looks comparable. Also still not sure if he lists the actual mileage on the rig anywhere in his manifesto-length description, but the van looks in clean/solid shape all around.)

4 Captain's chairs + 4WD + Well-maintained/clean rig = worth a look....

No affiliation!

FIRESTONE RIDE-RITE - FEATURES & BENEFITS

Firestone Ride-Rite air helper springs are designed to provide extra support to your vehicles suspension through the use of suspension air bags. Ride-Rite kits help keep your heavily loaded vehicle level which is essential for maintaining steering control and braking effectiveness. They also help reduce tire wear and keep your headlight beams on the road.

Ride-Rite kits use Firestone's popular double convoluted air springs. They offer maximum load support for years. The air springs can be adjusted to changing loads, so if you are not towing your trailer or hauling a heavy load you can reduce the air pressure in the air springs and have minimal to no impact on the ride. Need to haul your 5th wheel or gooseneck trailer and don't want the rear of your truck to sag? Simply increase the air pressure in your air bags and you are good to go.

On Oct-05-17 at 12:20:34 PDT, seller added the following information:

MAG-HYTEC'S heavy duty differential covers and transmission pans provide increased lubricant and cooling capacity for hard working recreational and service vehicles. MAG-HYTEC covers and pans set your vehicle apart in both aesthetics and function - cast in A356-T6 aluminum and texture powder coated black with machined cooling fins. Magnetic drain plugs trap worn gear material promoting fluid integrity. Each unit is fitted with ARP 568 O-rings for superior sealing. All hardware is 303 stainless steel, in most applications no gasket or sealant is required, and all MAG-HYTEC parts are covered by a lifetime limited warranty. Depend on MAG-HYTEC when you're pulling a heavy load.

On Oct-07-17 at 02:21:09 PDT, seller added the following information:

MagnaFlow Dual Exhaust Installed, from the Dual CATs back to the custom dual rectangular tips.

Which is more important: great performance or great sound? MagnaFlow Exhaust settles the debate by giving you both! Using decades of experience, extensive research, and field testing, MagnaFlow develops and manufactures durable steel mufflers tuned to provide the proper amount of backpressure, plus a deep, resonance-free tone. MagnaFlow Exhaust is so confident in these mufflers, each is guaranteed for life!
Immediately upon purchasing my van I had the Mag-tec transmission pan added for double the transmission fluid capacity. Then I installed 20 quarts of 100% AMSOIL Signature Series Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid, specifically formulated to withstand the rigors of heavy towing, elevated temperatures and challenging terrain. It remains fluid in sub-zero temperatures and provides reserve protection during heavy use and even abuse.

Owner Update
Here's a short update, accumulated from potential customers.

I am the original owner and planned to keep it into my retirement, but a recent bicycle accident has made that less hopeful..

That said, there is no body rust

MPG ~12

350ci iron block, last year!
480LE rear differential
Dana 60, 35 spline front differential
Mag-tec transmission pan with 20 quarts full synthetic
Only ran Mobil1 in the engine.
Windows all around and full tint
Full self-contained bugout campervan
Always stored in a shelter and always out of the weather.

Just spent $3,000.00 replaced entire braking system, including the master cylinder.
That's how I've taken care of it for Years have a huge binder with every manual and nearly every receipt
I used to laugh at the illness forces sale postings, but not anymore.

If I don't get a real buyer, I plan to seal this up for the NE winter and see how I feel in the spring. Gerry--

First paragraph seems to state it is indeed a sportsmobile, unless they just copied the layout:

Hey, good catch --- it does say that!

But....hmmm.
This sure doesn't look like an RB-50 layout as he indicates, not one bit....
RB-50 is more or less a copy of a VW Westfalia layout, with a full-width 2nd-row bench seat that turns into a bed.

This listed van has a front-to-rear aisle....
....and 2nd-row captain's chairs...

I'm about 45 minutes away, depending on traffic. Sure, would be happy to check it out. Not qualified to do an inspection, but if you give me a checklist I can run through it, take pics, test drive, impressions, sniff test, check rust, etc.

Hey Lakefever! All good man.
I'm always looking at vans for sale, like a lot of us....
....but if I post a van on here, it's because I've realized it's not quite right for me, at this time, anyway....so just putting it out there for anyone else it might be a great fit for!
