I agree...that is stellar!
Definitely don't see that kind of fuel consumption numbers with my RB 5.8L (lifted 2WD on 33's....)

Primarily due to air drag, fuel efficiency (especially for a brick like an Econoline) drops off exponentially fast when speeds climb much above 50 mph.
My van gets around 11 mpg on a trip, but when we go somewhere, we're usually "hauling the mail," so to speak....driving between 75 and 80 mph on average. I have no doubt that the van would likely deliver closer to 14 mpg (or better) if we trundled along at a more President-Carter-era speed limit of 55 or 60, however.
