I'm curious where you guys have seen them break? I feel like a lot of the stories I hear of them breaking, are home builds. Where people may not be aware of how to weld them correctly. Not preheating is a larger contributor to breaking trailer snouts. And insufficient support. I really like the few I've seen built in double shear which helps a lot when possible.

I witnessed one shear off right at the weld where it went into the bumper, looked like it was due to heat stress of welding to me (not mine).
I have been running one on my early bronco with a ~130 pound spare tire for almost 10 years. I ran the spindle through a sleeve in the bumper and welded the bottom. It has seen a lot of rough offroad use.

Good morning every one. Been a busy week with starting to move and wrapping up some projects.

Here is an update.

Excuse the late night pictures I'll be posting better ones today after some finish sanding. And monday I'll have pictures of 2 styles of prerunner style tube front bumpers. MGmetalworks was nice enough to help with some dimensions and boywonder with drawing for a fixture. I can't thanks these guys enough. This forum is wonderful!

I worked out a deal to work with one powdercoating place. I got a good agreement for December to help him stay busy. Any orders over $900 will be powdercated for free in December.

Shipping has still been a hiccup, hopefully Fastenal will be the answer. They were well recommend by other bumper companys.

The best option I've found is Fastenal. These prices I was quoted are just the shipping. Items must be crated for the insurance to cover any damages and I'll crate at cost.

These are prices for shipping a pair of front and rear bumper with tire carrier, just to give an idea.

San Diego to Clarksville TN

These prices include insurance if crated. They ship store location to store location. It would need to picked up from your nearest location. It is by far the cheapest shipping method.

Quick update...

New style prerunner bumper coming.

All front bumpers made from plate are now going to be aluminum. I have a few sets being cut out right now from 5052 aluminum plate.


Also working on nerf bars and front light bar/prerunner bar for Sprinter 170 van. Both in Aluminum.
