Market conditions?

Hi folks

I am a bit out of the loop on where things are, valuewise these days. I have a 2004 Quigley that I was planning on selling this spring, before this spring got really weird. Are things moving, or is it better to wait a bit? We're not desperate to sell - just the timing it right for us to move on to something else.

Is it OK to ask here (in a separate thread) valuation?

The people who want one and have the means to buy one, seem to be motivated to buy one more than ever. But the market of folks who can buy one right now is certainly smaller.

I have noticed a bunch of 5-10 year old Sprinters coming up for sale all of the sudden, but my sister is trying to buy a new Transit camper van, and they are few and far between. And 4x4 E-series seem to be going quick still, since these have good appeal for the be-prepared crowd.

As far as I can tell as long as Instagram is doing well then van sales are going to be doing well.

Be prepared to field lots of questions about your asking price vs. KBB value and if you know of a lender that can finance it. Refer them to lightstream.com for financing.

Just closed the sale on our 1998 SMB yesterday. I had several people interested, and the eventual buyer lives about an hour from me, so that was convenient for both of us. I came down a bit from my original asking price, mainly just to see it move and go to a good home. But I didn’t fire sale it, and I’m happy with the price I got and I think the buyer got a fair price, too. It wasn’t a high-priced rig, though, so I’m sure that worked in my favor.

That tricked out 2010 SMB in Wyoming which listed for $60k starting on Ebay did not get a single bid.
