Great looking rig. Twin I beam 4wd? Should that be Twin traction beam? I like the switches placed in the door, I wonder how they ran all the wires? I didn't see the miles listed either, but it will be interesting to see what it sells for at an auction atmosphere where folks sometimes get carried away. It would be fun to see them push that beast up the ramp and on to the auction block.................

Good looking rig on the outside and inside, but you think that for what Mecum expects to sell a vehicle for, the seller would take the time to detail the engine bay. Also, the 7.3L engine does not make 444HP, it has a displacement of 444 cu-in.

This is the "Alpha Van" that U-Joint built. Lots of videos about the van. One of the best hightop econolines out there!

That's a far better write-up than the For Sale ad. Nice to see Chris added an intercooler!

I thought that the 444hp was due to a performance build.

According to the build article above, the engine, built by Swamps Diesel, makes 435hp and 850 lb-ft of torque.

Chris at U-Joint did the build. Was a frame off total go-through. The guy/owner died recently. I think Chad was his name. I believe it was in the 440 range on HP. But it has a straight Dana 60 axle. Was always surprised they kept the semi float rear axle. Watch the vids, they shot this van with the money gun... heavily!

I thought that was Alpha Van. Man, what a bummer of a story.
