Haha! I wouldn't trade the wood-grained "rustic mountain cabin" interior in my '95 Sportsmobile for anything.
Well, maybe I would....but no, wait.....
I LOVE IT.

This interior aesthetic actually makes sense --- it looks "right" ---- when you're camped out somewhere in the wilderness or desert. It truly feels like some kind of woodsy vacation cottage. Admittedly it looks like a bit of an anachronism when I'm parked anywhere in the modern (and boring) sprawl of Orange County.....but when it's parked at any of the destinations this van is intended for, it's so spot-on.
(Interestingly....when younger guys at work (who in their early 20's) see the interior of my van,
they get super stoked on it. They seriously love it. I can't fully grasp why. Except perhaps its the same fascination that I have for the earth-toned/plaid interior trim of many uber-stylish 1970's cars. It's what you remember seeing when you were a kid.)
These same twenty-somethings will excitedly talk about how their "uncle's awesome conversion van looked like that inside!" when they see it.
So it's definitely a 'to each his own' thing.
