Purchase yea or nay?

Hello all,
Been lurking for quite some time. Looking at a 93 E 350 EB with the 7.5 v8 quigley 4wd. 23k showing on odometer, overall good condition from pics (not yet seen in person) appears to have been either a commercial or government vehicle so I would assume the idle mileage is much higher. Had a 94 2wd with the 7.3 and miss it. Looking for any thoughts or insight of potential issues to ask about or look into. Price is quite good under 15.... it is the cargo version but has had a rear drivers side rear window installed, other then that a blank slate in the rear with the exception of some wiring from what makes me think government or commercial vehicle hanging loose.

Re: Purchase yea or nay?

If you can get the VIN do a carfax to confirm it's 23K not 123K or 223K miles.

Yep, accurate mileage at 23k, and indeed was a federal government vehicle that would appear to have spent a large portion of its I've in the southwest....ie....no salt related corrosion?

A '93 van won't rollover until it hits 300,000 and at that points it rolls back to 200,000 (Absolutely no idea why. Or if Ford really saved much money by not including the top left LCD segment in the left-most digit on the Odomoter...).

That said, nothing prevents a cluster swap on any of the vans older than '03 .

Carfax should have service records for *something* if there is 100K plus on it- I'd expect at least one ding at a mileage over the cluster.

To answer the original question, HELL YES. Post pictures soonest.

Black gov't vehicle? That's unusual. It sounds good though and I would love to see pics also. I have a 95 7.5l (that's a 460 to anyone curious, not a 7.3 diesel typo). I love mine. It's a Quigley weighing in at around 10k now fully converted and loaded. The 460 moves it fine and I get about 10 mpg no matter what. This, to me, is not bad to have a bulletproof low mileage V8 that needs pretty much nothing but fuel. Much better than diesel maintenance IMO. Also, mine was a rare find at 20k when I got it. I would definitely do a full tune up on it if you get it. That's very cheap on one of these engines. Plugs, wires, rotor, cap, fuel & air filters, and all fluids. I replaced my radiator, hoses and thermostat too. Also, vacuum hoses, fuel lines and brakes will need checking on. Parts for this engine are dirt cheap online and the high performance companies like Jegs and Summit racing have it all, not to mention Rock Auto.
