Re: Selling my Sportsmobile - $9000

Here is the detail as well.

1992 Sportsmobile – Ford E150

Well, the time has come to have to sell my beloved Sportsmobile ?
If you are looking for a reliable camper to go up North or weekends to the beach, etc. this is the perfect vehicle.

I am the second owner of this van. When I bought it came with the original Sportsmobile cabinetry and accessories. After having a child and camping in it many times I realized that it did not need all the stuff in it as we did most everything outside of the van including washing dishes and grilling.

Last year I finally took on the project and took all of the insides out down to the paneling and remodeled it to fit my needs more. I have kept inside the van the refridgerator and microwave.
I took out 80% of the cabinets, hot water heater, sink and on board water 20gallon tank. I have all of these items in storage, so if the next owner would like to put everything back in they can, they would only have to have cabinets installed as the cheap mdf wood they used was no longer suitable for keeping. I also replaced the carpeting, but you can see the holes underneath if someone wants to re-run the inside plumbing.

Also last year I had the steering box replaced, new radiator, hoses, belts, fuel filler hose replaced. In addition I added a Fiamma 45s awning, this thing is sweet and only takes one person 2 minutes to set up.

She has 139K miles on her and we only put on about 4k a year. These Ford E150 engines have been known to go to 300k easily, in fact I ran into a guy who had the same van that he used for construction and he mentioned that he cant kill the thing after 400k on his.

I will try to outline some of the features of the van, but if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me.

139K miles
V8 5.8 liter
Sleeps 4
Goucho bed converts to bed
Pop top sleeps two with 5 windows
Fiamma awning installed
125watt solar panel with dual Sunsaver battery controller and display meter. Maintains house and starting battery.
Xantrex 1500watt inverter
Outside shower 10gallon tank and with privacy changing curtain
Hidden below floor storage
Yakima Load Warrior rack
Yakima Rocket Box
Side ladder
Custom front bumper with hitch and Hella Off Road lights
Rear tire with swing away latch
Tinted windows with blinds
Privacy curtains for front and side windows
400 watt stereo with subwoofer
CB/PA with speaker
Steering box replaced in 2013
Radiator, belts, hoses replaced last November
Idles and runs smooth
Blows cold AC air
Smogged April 2015
Tags are current and the title is clean

Areas for improvement:
The paint is bad and there are two spots or rust and a couple dents. A quote I got from one shop was $1500. It would make this look brand new if that was done.
There is a slow oil leak from the pan gasket. Since its so minor and not big, I have not needed to get it fixed.

Good luck with the sale.

How was your experience with the Morningstar solar components?
