Unusual Astro/Safari camper

I'm unfamiliar with these ... a friend with a Safari project hadn't either

Yea I have a neighbor that has one, they are actually on their way back from a road trip to NJ in it right now. Theirs is 2wd, but it's a sweet little camper. Their's has grey water, black water, propane, pop top, inverter, etc... Tiger also made a fixed high top version as well. The pop top 2wd version actually fits in a 7' garage. It's pretty amazing how much of the RV crap Tiger was able to fit in these things. I assume it's because they are pretty much cutaways with a wider body aft of the cab. Which makes me wonder how much more SMB could do with their SMB classic prototype E350 version, once they are no longer tethered to a full van body.

That sounds like a Chinook build... I see those online w/a V10 4x for around $30k from time to time ... usually less than 100k mi

It will be interesting to see the pics of the SMB cutaway chassis prototype...
