V10, 23k miles, weldtec lift, smb power top, blank interior

Found this under sport-mobile. Looks decent if you can stand the salvage title for theft. Would be a great base for a build if you are handy.

I have a hard time believing there would be a salvage title if all that was stolen were the wheels...

I agree but the doors are different too. Also, I wonder what the kbb value is of a stock 2008 econoline. I suppose a good tire and wheel set might cause an insurance company to throw in the towel, but who knows.

Stolen vehicles are often branded if recovery happens after the initial claim is closed and settled. Besides the insurance company not wanting to spend time doing a missing parts analysis, or try to guess how hard it was rode, it provides a was to make a vehicle go un-missing in DMV databases etc. And probably helps reduce fraud, otherwise it would be too easy to stash your rig a while...

So, this is probably legit but I'd certainly give it a VERY thorough inspection including mileage readings off the PCM (and make sure there's no VIN-discrepancy code stored in the memory.... clusters are easy to swap the the PCM knows).

I wish the price was lower than it is, but the pop top and lift weren't cheap and the van has low miles, so its probably only about $8k overpriced. Anyone willing to look won't care about the salvage title.
