Very Cheap 2003 SMB in Florida

We were going to fly out to buy this thing and so we had an inspector go out and look at it. The price was right and the mechanical condition was (fair to good) but I didn't have the overhead to handle the cost, flight, gas back to CA, and cosmetic fixes. Also, I was pretty concerned about potential leak issues and mold, but I'm sure it could be fixed.

Oh, and obviously, no affiliation.

Inspection turned up:

Battery cables loose
Oil. Leak - qt low
Trans overfilled
New shocks wires
Heat and a.c work
Water works
Hole in top
Mild mildew smell
Missing 2 batteries for back
Belt squeel
Pop in front end
Belt tensioner popping
Would recommend belt
Trans linkage off
Evap hose capped off
Dents and scratches

Still, great price for a 2003 with under 100,000 miles

Garage
That’s a steal. Dodge vans are pretty bulllet proof.

Sounds like it just needs some mechanical TLC. Good luck with the trip and the buy!

Hey guys, I believe that rig has been for sale for quite a while now. In fact, I’m really surprised to see it back on CL. I thought it had been sold a while ago, as it seemed to be a good deal price wise.

It was posted back in early December for $10,500.

Maybe the mechanical issues scared other interested buyers away previously? But even then, at that price you’d have plenty of room to get it ship shape again.

Since it’s posted as a “Sportsman” anyone looking for a used SMB van may not see this ad.

Just as an update to this, he is now asking only 8500. We paid 4200 for our 87 GMC bought form an elderly couple just south of where this one is, so 8500 for a rig 16 years newer is an absolute steal. If I didn't love mine so much, I would trade up.
