100,000 mile auto transmission oil change/flush

My 1991 Dodge 350 has reached 100,000 miles and wondering if auto transmission fluid should be changed. Any thoughts..? Newbie here. Thanks

You should be draining and filling that trans every 30,000. Avoid doing a pressurized flush. I think most shops finally ditched those machines anyways.

Couldn't agree more with CarringB on this---its one way to help assure a long transmission life.

I wrote a bit on the Ford 4R70W transmission--it might be interesting to read: http://www.sportsmobileforum.com/vie...p?f=39&t=16922

I don't know much about MoPar transmissions but am pretty sure all automatic's benefit from clean fluid.

Hi,

Change the fluid and make sure they use Chrysler's ATF +4 NOT some other product with a bottle of additive thrown in.

While your at it put in a new pan with a drain plug in it. You can do the next one at home.

Regards,

Gavin
