1996 e 150 brake upgrade

great site ,new to forum. was lead here searching for answers. I have a 1996 ford e150 conversion van (please no jokes ) and the stock brakes are just not up to the task.does the suspension brake swap from the 2008 on up e series work on the 1996 e 150? I already run 18 inch rims with e 250 springs front and rear.thanks .

Except for the fact that you will have 8 lugs in the front, where you used to have 5, and 5 in the rear unless you swap rear axles also.

Here's a how-to on this swap as performed on an '03 E250. As Baja says the lug nut count will change: http://sportsmobileforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=12224

In theory this should be doable but to my knowledge no one here (or on FTE) has done this or at least posted they have.

BrianW's experience prompted me to do mine---on the pre-08 E250's its a valuable and much needed upgrade.

HTH

Ah, yeah, forgot that he has an E150. Another guy on the forum did that to his GTRV E-150: front end swap, and added a full-floater rear, too.
