2001 7.3 Leaking Plug

Can any one tell what this plug is and why it might be leaking.

Might help if I provided a little more information. This is on the back of the engine block on the drivers side. Not dripping much, but it is landing on the junction of the up pipe and exhaust manifold.

2001 7.3 Leaking Plug

Oil rail end drain plugs I believe, you can try tightening it a bit, otherwise might be the o rings are worn and need replacing.

REF, thanks. If I pull the plug to put in a new O ring will it leak a lot of oil? Do you use any type of "locktite" on it when reinstalling?

REF, looking at the diagram on Deadhead Diesel, thinking it is a different plug. The one I have circled is lower than the one indicated in their drawing. The ones that's leaking on mine sits just above and to the left of the freeze plug

Fuel or oil leaking?
If it’s fuel, then it looks like it’s the fuel rail banjo bolt, there’s 2 different styles, and there’s a replacement o-ring set. Browse the diesel sites for some tips on removal and proper draining.
Look at related products for o-ring set-

If it's leaking then what is coming out from it? Diesel, coolant, and oil aren't that similar....

I'd pull the plug and catch the diesel in a can. See what you're dealing with and replace accordingly. This assumes you're going it alone and don't get feedback here on if there's an oring, etc.
