2004 E350 6.0 Blue Spring Upgrade

Has anyone with an E350 done a blue spring upgrade? Where did you get yours from? Where you able to self install?
All of the kits that I've seen in my searches say that they are for the wrong side/only for the F series.

Re: 2004 E350 6.0 Blue Spring Upgrade

I have on '05 and asked my diesel shop about doing it and they said it wasn't worth it on the van. They do a lot of van work and have done some on them and there wasn't any discernible change in anything. My understanding is that it really only helps when a LOT of fuel is being demanded for a sustained period of time. This requires going to a demand level above stock truck levels which our vans don't hit even when tuned. Having said that it is pretty cheap to do and won't hurt anything. I haven't heard anything that would indicate you can't do them on our vans.

Carringb or someone else will likely be able to chime in with more and more accurate info.

I bought one online and had my local dealer install it. I didn't notice a difference but felt better having it in there. It didn't cost too much if I remember to install as I bundled it with a fuel filter change. This was on my 04 PSD SMB. I now own a V10.

Seems to be a standard upgrade. It was done on my 6.0 as part of the bullet proof job IIRC.

Re: 2004 E350 6.0 Blue Spring Upgrade

One note of caution:

When I did the blue spring upgrade the increased pressure caused some injector O-rings to fail, leading to diluted oil, leading to a new engine.

I did notice the oil level going up and went back to the shop that did the work. They thought the dipstick was wrong and changed it out. When the oil level continued up I went to a different shop.
