2006 SMB V-10 intermittent starting problems

I have a 2006 SMB V-10 with 27K miles. It has been really reliable, but for two occasions. On both these occasions, I went to start the vehicle (once after sitting overnite, once after being off for just a few min.). I turned the key and nothing happened - didn't turn over, click, but all lights, electrical equipment, etc. worked fine. Then, after 10-15 min. sitting each time, it starts fine!!

First time this happened I took it to a Ford truck mechanic, who checked things out, found no problems. He added a cryptic "this happens with those V-10s" - but offered nothing really useful by way of explanation.

Has anybody here experienced this before and/or have any idea what's going on?

Thanks,

Nick

P.S. I apologize if this is covered in another thread - I checked some, but couldn't find anything relevant to this specific problem.

Intermittent Starting

Nudger ,
My daughter's 2003 Quigley E-350 V-10 did the same thing , first diagnosis by Ford was a sticking Starter Solenoid , which they replaced all was well , one month later they changed the complete Starter , good for approximately one year and then it started again .
They checked the complete system and changed out the cables and it has never done it again to date . Always happened like yours after sitting over night and generally at temperature's under 50 degrees .

I experienced this problem once as well (actually, my wife did). When i got there, all i did was put the shifter more firmly in Park and the problem went away....i later tightened a part of the linkage that was loose and it has not happened since.
