Well, as expected the Ford Tech found nothing and said the van was running fine. Nothing came up on diagnostics. So maybe it's just me or the KAM reset did the trick somewhat. I asked my service guy to reflash the PCM in case it was tuned. When he called he explained that it's a risk because they have had PCM's lock up when they try to reflash them when they are tuned and then all you can do is go with a new PCM.

My van passed emissions with it's current settings so screw it, I have a 5 star on the way and I will see where it goes from there. Perhaps the tune will help some of the dogging it issues when I come around a corner and such. either way, the van is good and maybe it just had a lot of giddy up as it was an empty van with a V10 5 speed on stock tires.

So I guess the KAM reset did help. It did drive nice the other day with a few downshifts that the tuner might help out with.

Just another day in the life of Flux.

No problem! And ya, 30mpg would be sweet. MG was hoping my engine was shot so he could convince me to put an ecoboost in. My wife would not have been thrilled ha ha.

My wife told me that she had no idea the van project would take so long. I didn't have the heart to tell her it never ends......it just never ends.

Something interesting happened yesterday and now I feel like a dummy. I put in the 5 Star 87 perf/tow tune last night and went to get some takeout food and give it a little test. Love the tune. Saw a little bit of the low idle recovery thing when coming to stops etc, but it seemed to go away after the van got a little warmer. Coming home I slowed down for a sharp corner and purposefully watched the RPM's for the dip. Took the corner a little hard and what I did see was the %$#^ing RSC light up for a brief second and the engine cut for a split second and there you have it........So I am wondering if a couple of my perceived ills came from the RSC and I didn't notice the light come on.

I did hear the throttle cycle when I tuned it. In general, the van runs way way better and the 87 perf/tow tune has compensated for it's sluggishness after the 4x4 conversion.

I think I am hearing a hiss during shifting coming from the rear factory AC unit. I heard the hiss before, but couldn't pinpoint it. I have some interior now so I can hear things better. It's happening when the AC is off. So I might need to check the vacuum switch back there that controls the "gate" for lack of a better word.

Silly silly stuff.
