First of all try to get an E-350 (One Ton)

For the 2X kit, check these guys .....

For the 4X4 kit you can't beat U-Joint

Total weight rating for one. Not sure if the frames are different...carringb posted something on this way back IIRC.

The only down side I see to the E-350 (1 Ton) over the E-250 (¾ Ton) is that a few states make you register it as a “commercial vehicle” (because it’s not a SMB “RV”) so the plates may be a little more expensive.
WAY worth it to me!

Re: 4wd kit for e250?

If you go here, you can cmopare the specs for the vans you are considering:
https://www.fleet.ford.com/truckbbas.../techspec.html

The frames are the same between the E250 and E350RB. But E250 springs are softer, and it may have a lower rated axle. Unfortunately, even Ford's own publications fail to account for all body configurations. Some vans listed with a semi-float rear axle may axle come with a Full-Float (Most EB passenger vans will actually have a 7800# full float axle for example). So.... when shopping it pays to peak underneath to see which axle it really has.

Campervan,
have you already found a van yet?
What area are you in?
The shop van here is for sale and is in the process of finnishing up the UJoint kit on it.
It's a 2005 E350 SuperDuty 6.0l turbo diesel that just had a bunch of preventive measures down and new parts replaced.
bigger tires already installed, Aluminess ladder, fender flairs,roof rack system,window tint,and new Kenwood navigational DVD stereo installed.
just an option.
let me know
John
