I always need to make sure I have another vehicle at home though, for the inevitable 3 additional trips to the auto parts store and/or hardware store for some part I didn't know I needed, or to replace some part that I broke when replacing the original part.

And that's my exact thought---a chase vehicle AND at minimum a cadre of every part needed even if its a remote chance. If I buy 10 things and use them all good on me---if some are returned that's typically handled politely and without too much hassle.

Since I'm working in my drive way facing the street every trip requires quite a bit of putting this and that away. Once the parts are rounded up its back to square one.

So yeah asking in advance about a specific topic is wise, at least to me.
