6.0 psd p683 code

Hello Folks,
I'm getting an intermittent P-683 (Glow Plug Control Module to PCM Communication Circuit Code). I clear it and with in a few days it returns. It usually does not set the Service Engine Light. While there are a host of things things mentioned in the trouble shooting article it seems that these engines have a quite a few "common" weak points that cause issues. While probably obscure does anyone have any personal expertise with this particular code? Thanks in advance!
Pat

Most likely wiring harness issue.

Well the GP Control Module has been eliminated as the cause, I now have a new one. I went with the mechanic's opinion without doing any diagnostics. My bad. I guess I have a "spare" GPCM now. On to the wiring...
