6.0 won't start?

Hi All, I just went out to take the van to the mountains for a bike ride and nothing! It cranked great but no hint at ignition. I've had no problems and treat it like a baby. My chip reader says low turbo pressure? All I can find about that does not explain why it won't start? any pointers???? thanks

Re: 6.0 won't start?

What year?
Had you been driving it prior to the no start condition, ie. was the engine warm already? The only thing I can think of is a low pressure on the high pressure oil system. This will cause a no start. 2005 model years had a STC (snap to connect) fitting on the HPOP that can develop a small leak and will not allow the engine to restart after it's warm.

Just a thought.

Re: 6.0 won't start?

It's a 2006 and no just heading out for the first start of the day. It never missed a beat prior to this? I'm hoping it's just a loose connection someplace and not the beginning of my 6.0 nightmare...... . The worst part was missing out on a nice ride at Kirkwood Mt bike days. thanks for the help

Re: 6.0 won't start?

Did you try the crash switch located right of where the passengers feet sit?

I had a similar problem and it was ICP/IPR valve but I would think the reader would show that. Same with cam sensor.

Re: 6.0 won't start?

I'm out of town right now but I'll check the kill switch when I get home. (how do I go about that?) I'm hoping its something that easy. I'd hate to give my "new set of skis" fund to the ford dealer........

Re: 6.0 won't start?

mine is just a push button switch. My guess is it pops out like a GFI button and pushing it back in resets it. It didn't trip but was the first thing I looked at after the engine died.

Here's my no-start saga. Been trouble free, knock on wood, since then.

Re: 6.0 won't start?

Here is a diagram of the fuel inertia switch. I believe it pop up towards the top. You just push it back in. I tripped it a couple of months ago doing some work on the van. I was happy that I remembered being told about it previously.

Re: 6.0 won't start?

thanks for all the help and ideas. I'm hoping it's the kill switch. I'm thinking it may be that because my only code is a low turbo pressure code. I'm thinking I'd get that code if the engine does not fire and the turbo pressure will not make it up to speed..... got to love the 6.0. (when it works)
