Not to mess up your thread but I thought this would be of interest if you haven't seen it before.

+Marc Pugh hi Marc lots to do but worth it in the end ! moved the engine back 5 inches for room and handling, plus better ride (the van came with leaf springs)fass fuel pump, bigger turbo (351) from a 2003 cummins and moved back with a rear mount exhaust, factory 5.9 intercooler turned upside down, air horn from a freightliner ,used the E40D trans rebuild for torque and stall converter , (used a pcs controller for the trans) with a adapter plate, 354 gears but would have been better with 373s(dana60"s) amsoil remote filters where the battery' used to be(now moved to the rear) ,#10 fuel plate afc tuned ,4 inch exhausted, removed the factory fuel shut off now pull and lock type, drive shafts shorted on the front and longer for the rearand made my own engine mounts and a hydraulic brakes from an astro van.... stops on a dime !!?

Re: 6.7L Cummins conversion project

Hi MJM Metalworks,

Just wondering how is your Cummins 6.7 Project coming along?

This is one of my favourite threads, probably many others as well.

I love my 2012 Cummins 6.7 non Ab Blue, so smooth, powerful & amazingly quiet!

Cheers Doug,

Re: 6.7L Cummins conversion project

Hey Doug! Thanks for following along!

I'm just getting back to the Cummins swap after the SEMA van project and its aftermath. Just before I started on the SEMA van, I was about to make engine mounts and fuel tank cross members. Once I get back from a little holiday travel, that's where I'll start up again.

I have everything I need to get it running now, just a matter of getting in the shop to make sparks and turn wrenches.

I chose a modern common rail for exactly the reasons you listed... quiet, smooth and powerful. You can have it all compared to a 6.0L...when they're running they make good power...but not quietly nor smoothly

Re: 6.7L Cummins conversion project

Thank you, I took the survey and voted "yes."

Anyone we know involved in making the wiring harnesses for the Cummins repower project?

Re: 6.7L Cummins conversion project

I'm not sure what you're asking??? I'm building my own harnesses for my project and I have no affiliation with Cummins or any other repower project. I'm just a peon dude...I don't have any cool insider connections or info.

Yeah right. Just like that whole Optima SEMA van thing. (Your secret is good with me...)

Re: 6.7L Cummins conversion project

I'm serious man....I'm way down on the bottom of the automotive industry food chain. I have a small shop behind my house, too little time to work in it and almost enough money to buy a tiny fraction of what I really want. If I had some connection to Cummins and could be in any way involved in their crate engine program, you can bet I'd post the big news. I don't have that kind of luck though. This project has been one big hurdle after the other and, aside from tidbits of info from a few much smarter than me diesel tuner dudes, I've had to make my own progress. There ain't no joint venture going on here.
