That's an option at some point...I have other personal projects in the queue before another van. At the moment I'm only compiling a parts list and figuring out how best to integrate the wiring into '08-earlier and '09+ vans. From the looks of things so far, I think I could come up with pretty close to a plug'n'play setup to re-power an Eseries to bring new life into it. I've talked to several people about doing the swap already so I figured I should have a plan in place for when the time comes.

Cummins van is getting a custom roof rack with two big solar panels, Maxx fan clearance and a rear platform with integrated tie down points...lots of tie down points. I have the fit up pretty dialed in now. Time for some weldin'!

I wrapped up the fab work on the roof rack and now it's time put the interior puzzle together! Along the passenger side there will be a cabinet/bench/bed (you can see the base plate for the cabinet structure in the pic). Along the driver side a full-length cabinet with National Luna top load fridge behind the driver. It is a pass-through design with enough room for the owner to have his small dual sport moto inside if needed. I'll share more about the layout soon.

I have been test fitting parts and doing a bit of fab for things like the side door opening step.

fresh off the press brake...not trimmed for slider door life yet.

Trimmed and fit with new edge tacked in place

30 mins later....

A few more tweaks and the step trim will fit up nice to the front floor edge trim.

I have another van in process too with some trick aluminum door panel storage and another unique layout (more on that soon too). All of the interiors I've done this way utilize my custom floor system as the foundation and make for a light-weight and strong interior structure with very good space utilization.

Looks great so far and am sure it will be fantastic when completed. Like that floor system with L track. You do such outstanding work.

Not surprising given your other accomplishments, but still compelled to comment: Impressive workmanship on those side door step panels!

The custom step trim look great!

I keep pondering a Cummins/Allison swap into my 1992 IDI. I'd probably go with an '08+ front clip conversion to get the PS radiator and charge cooler. It seems like this would be enough work that I'd probably do a 4WD conversion as well, along with a bunch of other changes. I would also completely gut the entire van and rewire it, as I've done enough projects like this to believe that trying to rework the existing wiring would be as much or more work than ripping it all out and starting over from scratch.
